Time is never in a hurry, but we sure are. We can grow impatient while waiting on certain things in our personal development to "click" in our brains. We practice for a while, we think we "get it," and we're ready to conquer the world, right? Wrong!
American culture makes us impatient. We can get many things, almost, instantly. If we have to wait for something, we'd rather just forget it and move on to something else. Unfortunately, that tactic doesn't work when we're talking about ourselves and our personal development. If we want to progress in life, reach our goals, live our dreams - we have to take ourselves seriously. We have to allow time for growth.
Developing positive habits can take anywhere from 2 months to 6 or 7 months. (Read The 21 Days to a Habit Lie.) So, there's no reason to rush. It takes however long it takes. If you're serious about it, you won't mind investing the time.
